Hot News1 كيفية حماية الكمبيوتر

Using Anti-Virus Software

Viruses and other malicious programs are transmitted over the Internet and can spread quickly to wreak havoc on personal computers and corporate networks. RBC maintains the latest in anti-virus software to detect and prevent viruses from entering our computer network systems. To protect your own computer, you should always use up-to-date antivirus software capable of scanning files and email messages for viruses.
How does anti-virus software protect my computer?

By scanning your files and email messages for viruses, anti-virus software can prevent your files from being corrupted or lost, and save you hours of frustration trying to restore an infected computer system. Anti-virus software can also protect you from dangerous "Trojan horses", which are programs that allow others to gain control of your computer system remotely without your knowledge or consent. These programs can capture and transmit your personal information.
Where do I get anti-virus software and how can I keep it up to date?

A variety of anti-virus software packages are available on the market today. Many of these products install anti-virus updates to your computer automatically, as long as you have the update feature enabled.

Uses of Computer
The computer is one of the wonders of modern technology. This article describes the various uses of a computer to the modern man today.
What is a Computer?

A computer is an electronic device, which executes software programs. It consists of 2 parts-hardware and software . The computer processes input through input devices like mouse and keyboard. The computer displays output through output devices like color monitor and printer. The size of a computer varies considerably from very small to very big. The speed of computers also has a very large range. Computers have become indispensable in today’s world. Millions of people use computers all over the world.

There are several uses of computers: -

* Word Processing - Word Processing software automatically corrects spelling and grammar mistakes. If the ******* of a document repeats you don’t have to type it each time. You can use the copy and paste features. You can printout documents and make several copies. It is easier to read a word-processed document than a handwritten one. You can add images to your document.

* Internet - It is a network of almost all the computers in the world. You can browse through much more information than you could do in a library. That is because computers can store enormous amounts of information. You also have very fast and convenient access to information. Through E-Mail you can communicate with a person sitting thousands of miles away in seconds. There is chat software that enables one to chat with another person on a real-time basis. Video conferencing tools are becoming readily available to the common man.
* Digital video or audio composition – Audio or video composition and editing have been made much easier by computers. It no longer costs thousands of dollars of equipment to compose music or make a film. Graphics engineers can use computers to generate short or full-length films or even to create three-dimensional models. Anybody owning a computer can now enter the field of media production. Special effects in science fiction and action movies are created using computers.
* Desktop publishing - With desktop publishing, you can create page layouts for entire books on your personal computer.
* Computers in Medicine - You can diagnose diseases. You can learn the cures. Software is used in magnetic resonance imaging to examine the internal organs of the human body. Software is used for performing surgery. Computers are used to store patient data.
* Mathematical Calculations - Thanks to computers, which have computing speeds of over a million calculations per second we can perform the biggest of mathematical calculations.
* Banks - All financial transactions are done by computer software. They provide security, speed and convenience.
* Travel - One can book air tickets or railway tickets and make hotel reservations online.
* Telecommunications - Software is widely used here. Also all mobile phones have software embedded in them.
* Defense - There is software embedded in almost every weapon. Software is used for controlling the flight and targeting in ballistic missiles. Software is used to control access to atomic bombs.
* E-Learning – Instead of a book it is easier to learn from an E-learning software.
* Gambling-You can gamble online instead of going to a casino.
* Examinations-You can give online exams and get instant results. You can check your examination results online.
* Computers in Business - Shops and supermarkets use software, which calculate the bills. Taxes can be calculated and paid online. Accounting is done using computers. One can predict future trends of business using artificial intelligence software. Software is used in major stock markets. One can do trading online. There are fully automated factories running on software.
* Certificates - Different types of certificates can be generated. It is very easy to create and change layouts.
* ATM machines - The computer software authenticates the user and dispenses cash.
* Marriage - There are matrimonial sites through which one can search for a suitable groom or bride.
* News-There are many websites through which you can read the latest or old news.
* Classmates-There are many alumni websites through which you can regain contact with your classmates.
* Robotics - Robots are controlled by software.
* Washing Machines - They operate using software.
* Microwave Oven - They are operated by software.
* Planning and Scheduling - Software can be used to store contact information, generating plans, scheduling appointments and deadlines.
* Plagiarism - Software can examine ******* for plagiarism.
* Greeting Cards - You can send and receive greetings pertaining to different occasions.
* Sports – Software is used for making umpiring decisions. There are simulation software using which a sportsperson can practice his skills. Computers are also to identify flaws in techhnique.
* Aeroplanes – Pilots train on software, which simulates flying.
* Weather analysis – Supercomputers are used to analyze and predict weather.

Computers have leapfrogged the human society into another league. It is used in each and every aspect of human life. They will spearhead the human quest of eradicating social problems like illiteracy and poverty. It is difficult to imagine a world bereft of computers. This revolutionary technology is indeed a boon to the human race. May computers continue to shower their blessings to us.

What's a computer?

Short Answer: A computer is a collection of electrical and mechanical devices that can accept input via input devices and can provide output via output devices.

Long Answer: A computer is a collection of electrical and mechanical devices that can accept human or electro-mechanical input via input devices and can provide visual, auditory and kinetic output via output devices.

*

Human input is generally provided by moving and clicking buttons on a mouse, from pressing keys on a keyboard, writing on an electronic tablet, touching the screen or with spoken commands. Electro-mechanical input can come from a variety of data storage devices or from another, attached computer.
*

Visual output is typically displayed on a monitor while audible output is played through speakers, while an example of kinetic output might be back pressure from a joystick.
*

The mouse, keyboard, monitor and speakers are all connected to IO (Input/Output) ports on the computer.

A computer is as stupid as a stone and has no more value than a stone without an operating system and programs.

The keyboard

The keyboard, as on a piano for example, is that on what one hits the words (among others). He/it is composed of keys. All keyboards look alike, with to the center the letters of the alphabet, to the over the numbers, and the keys that remain are keys of abridgments. For example, the MAJ key (an arrow upwards) permits to write in capitals.

The mouse is held in the right hand, or in the left hand for the left-handed.
She/it serves to do various actions on the computer: while displacing it on a surface, an arrow that one calls "cursor" moves to the screen in the same way as the mouse:

The most current mice have two buttons, one on which one places the adult and the other the index, as well as a wheel to the center.

The screen

Nothing of very complicated, you probably know already this term. A screen of computer, it is like a screen of television: it is the part of the computer that displays what he/it happens.
There are cathodic screens (older) and "dishes" (generally so-called LCD).

The central unit

The central unit is inside a case of which are united most other elements of the computer.
Generally, a button that permits to put the computer under way is placed on the central unit.

Vocabulary

In relation with the material

To click, Click (Mouse)

"To click", or to "make a click", mean to push on a button of the mouse.
One says "right click" for the button right, and "double click" means that it is necessary to push two times in succession quickly on the button.
"To click" probably comes of the "Click" that one hears when one... clique.

One says as "double-click" to speak of two fast clicks, immediately one after the other.
To hit (Keyboard)

"To hit" means to push simply on the keys of the keyboard.
Use of the computer

Office

The office is what is displayed to the screen once the computer is started.
One finds the rod of the tasks or the control panel there generally, as well as of the icons (to see farther for the definitions of this vocabulary), the all on a picture of background.
Icon

It is the most often a small picture, sometimes associated to some words, that are used to do various actions, while clicking over.

Button

A button is very similar to an icon, but generally it is solely the text on a bottom that evokes the relief, like a button (switch) real.
Rod of the tasks, control panel, dock,

It is a sort of flat rod placed on one sides of the screen. One can find the icons, of the menus, there and generally the list of the open windows.
Window

A window is a rectangle, that generally corresponds to a software.

One finds there:

* The side, called "decoration of the window". On the side of the top, there is the title of the window, and in top on the right, three buttons. The on the right, generally represented with a cross, permits to close the window, that is to say to stop the program that corresponds to him.
* The rod of menus, just below the title. Every menu permits to do various actions.
* Finally, the whole remains is the ******* of the window, that defers according to the software to which she/it corresponds.

Menu

A menu is a button that, when one clicks over, open out a list of other buttons.
Program, Software,

A software is a complicated enough notion to understand.
I am going to try to explain it in a clear way.

In the real life, of every day, you need objects.
For example, if you want to write, you need a sheet of paper, a pencil and a support.
But if you want to sleep, these objects won't be you anymore of any utility!

In your computer, it is the same principle. If you want to make this or it, it is necessary to use such or such software.
But, as in the real life, one finds several software (sets of objects) capable to make the same thing, and an unique software sometimes permits to make several things.
For example, if you want to illuminate the piece, you can light light or open the shutters: two objects (the switch and the shutters) permit to make the same thing (to illuminate the piece more or less).
And a newspaper can serve to be read or to light fire: a same object (the newspaper) can serve to several things (to read or to light fire).

A computer software is therefore, on a computer, the *****alent of an object or together of objects in the real life.

When one wants to speak of a software, one uses to designate it his/her/its name or that to what he/it serves.

Does everybody speak to of it but that what is?

Internet is a network that permits to join between them all computers.
Thanks to Internet, it is possible to send some messages to correspondents (as by the post office) and especially to visit what one calls the sites, of the sorts of book on computer, but that are a lot more bound between them that of the books paper
