Where is the best place to look for a used car that’s not just someone else’s junk?

The Question
My 16 year old has about $7000 saved in his bank account to buy his first car. He’s still working and saving but everything we’re seeing on FB marketplace already has around 200,000 miles on it. Where is the best place to look for a used car that’s not just someone else’s junk?

(My husband and I currently own a Toyota Sequoia and a Tundra and we do prefer a Toyota).

ANSWER 1
That is often the problem looking for a toyota, they're either really old or super high mile and the price tag is still high.

Two cars we have owned and like are 2011 camry and 2012 ford fusion, both should be available under 120k for around 7k on fb or other private sale. These dealers and carmax are really inflating prices, hard to buy from them.

My husband sells high mileage cars at a used car lot in our town. If well maintained, there’s no reason they can’t be great, long lasting cars.

I do it regularly (not looking to buy yet), but the good deals go pretty quick. However, they do come up for 7-9k with lower miles. Like others have said, I wouldn’t be scared of 200k miles for a first car.
