Violence in sports usually refers to violent and often unnecessarily harmful intentional physical acts committed during, or motivated by, a sports game, often in relation to contact sports such as American football, ice hockey, rugby football, lacrosse, association football, boxing, mixed martial arts, wrestling, and water polo and, when referring to the players themselves, often involving excessively violent or potentially illegal physical contact beyond the normal levels of contact expected while playing the sport. These acts of violence can include intentional attempts to injure a player or coach by another player or coach, but can also include threats of physical harm or actual physical harm sustained by players or coaches by fans or those engaging in the spectating of sports, or threats and acts of violence performed by fans or spectators upon opposing fans or other spectators.
Causes
There are two major theories on the cause of violence in sports. One theory holds that humans have an instinct for violence, developed during a time when early human ancestors had to resort to violence and aggressiveness to survive and reproduce. Another theory deals with the sociological aspects of violence in sports, stating that sports are "mock battles" which can become actual battles due to their competitive nature.[1]

Violence by athletes
Through a "civilizing process", many modern sports have become less tolerant of bloodshed than past versions, although many violent aspects of these sports still remain.[1]

Athletes sometimes resort to violence, in hopes of injuring and intimidating opponents. Such incidents may be part of a strategy developed by coaches or players.

In boxing, unruly or extremely violent behavior by one of the contestants often results in the fighter breaking the rules being penalized with a points reduction, or, in extreme cases, disqualification. Outlawed tactics in boxing include hitting the opponent on the back of the head, under the belly during clinching, and to the back. Other tactics that are outlawed, but less seen, are pushing an opponent extremely hard to the floor, kicking, or hitting repeatedly after the round has ended. Similar actions have also happened in ice hockey and Australian Football League matches.

There is a lot of violence in sports such as when people don't want to talk out their problems with the player or team member they use violence to solve the problem. The involved are not just athletes, but the coaches, parents, referees, and the spectators are also involved in the violence. The three sports most involved are hockey, soccer, and football. Noticed was that after the September 11th terrorism took an increase in importance. Almost all teens, have been involved in our have seen violence in sports. Anything between a fight after a game, a fight during a game, an argument during or after a game, or a dissagreement with a ref can lead to a violent act. There is almost no difference between rough and violent, most athletes and fans don't know where rough play ends and violence begins. Recently sports have become extremely violent, with the fact that young players are being encouraged to hurt the opposite team at any means necessary, just to win a game it seems very stupid, that you would hurt someone else to prove that you are on a better team, or are a better player or just trying to prove to your coach, family and fans that you are a good team player. If I was on a team with a coach who taught me that it was right to hurt someone to win a game, I would most likely quit. After all sports are just sports they are not war. People should be getting taught to compete fairly and should be learning sportsman ship. Some of the injuries today are ruining lives for some of the ex - players, when someone breaks a bone because another player is to violent, they should be charged or thrown out of a game or even the league, beacause no ones career should be ruined or set back because of someone else's stupidity

Many news stories that write about sports highlight amazing victories, underdog comebacks or shocking defeats. Sometimes these stories even praise the actions of the players, but overall they rarely report the severe violence that occurs on the field and in the stands. The following essay will discuss the impact of violence on professional players, violence that occurs amongst the fans, and how violence has shaped professional sports.

Sports has been part of society for as long as time, such as the Mayan Ball Game which was the first team sport in human history and was played for over 3000 years, it was a test of physical ability and mental toughness. Sports was a way to prove that you or your team was the best, and was going to lay it out all on the field. Some sports have brought people together such as soccer being a world wide sport with almost every country participating in it. However, sports can also create bitter rivals and make a game mean something more than just a game, it means war. With more rivals this creates a warrior mentality and can lead to the mind set of completely destroying the opponent whatever the cost.

This cost can result in serious injuries. An article called “For too long, sports journalist glossed over football’s violence. I was one of them.” by Leonard Shapiro said that,

An investigation on the NFL’s longtime mishandling of concussions shows how the league for many years would not admit that on field concussions could lead to harmful consequences for players both during their football careers and afterward… many of the players listed in a lawsuit or their dependents said the former players are suffering from dementia, depression, Alzheimer’s disease and other neurological ailments (Shapiro 2013).

Salam Alaikoum !
j'ai fais des petites recherches et voilà ce que ça donne , j'éspère que ça t'aidera insh'Allah , bonne continuations à vous !
Violence in sports usually refers to violence and often harmful intentional physical acts committed during a sports game such as football, ice hockey, boxing and wrestling. This phenomenon is usually caused by illegal physical contact beyond the normal levels of contact expected while playing the sport. These acts of violence can include intentional attempts to injure a player or coach by another player or coach, but can also include threats of physical harm by fans or those specators of sports upon opposin other spectators .
Violence by supporters of sports teams dates back to Roman times and still exsist nowadays , and it's considered as one of the most critical problems that threats our society . In order to make this stop , policemen should be involved to assure citizen's security . They should be advertising spectators for violent behavior and remove the trouble makers away .Finally , increasing the visibility of security might be a great help in controlling the dispersal process.
