Voici aussi quelques noms de famille qui m'ont été remontés à tort comme étant foughalis, mais pour lesquelles il y a ambigüité:



Meribai / Merbaï: la famille MERIBAI de Selma est originaire de Beni Amrane Djablia. Un ancêtre, Ahmed surnommé Bouch-Hitt est venu s'installer à Selma vers 1860 suite à une dispute familiale. Le nom Meribaï / Merbaï est une déformation avec le temps du nom de la grande famille El Mrabaa المرابعة

Les Boudjadja sont aussi des Meribaï, mais suite à une affaire d'héritage ils ont changé de nom.

Actuellement, un grand brassage avec les Beni Foughal a eu lieu, c'est pourquoi le nom Meribaï est souvent cité comme un nom foughali.



Laïb/Aïab: famille d'origine Beni Ourzeddine, qui semble avoir des ramifications ensuite chez les Beni Foughal (branche Ouled Ouareth ou Ouled Tahar). Une autre Branche a été citée (Ouled Belhadj), ce n'est pas une branche foughalie.



Belliroun de Guelma: les Belliroun sont des kabyles arrivés à Guelma il y a plus d'un siècle, en provenance de Azefoune et Akbou.



Boudjemline: chaouis originaires de l'extrême est, vers Tebessa ou M'sila, et arrivés tardivement à Benifoughal (implantation à Goubia). La tradition orale d indique que l'ancêtre de la famille était un important lettré venu d'El-Andalus. On notera aussi l'existence du mausolée de sidi Boudjemline à M'sila.
