AH 658 (1269 AD): The Mamluk general Saif-Ul Din Qutoz led the Muslims in victory against the Mongols in the Battle of Ain Jaloot; it was one of the biggest and most decisive battles in the Islamic history


AH 1393 (1973 AD): Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain and UAE stop exporting oil to the US and Holland, as part of the October war between Egypt/Syria and Israel


AH 1422 (2001 AD): The Tank Hunter, Mohammed Abdul 'Ati died. Abdul 'Ati made himself a reputation of hunting tanks in the October 73 war, something which was registered in various encyclopedia as the most renowned tanks hunter in the world

AH 1304 (1887 AD): Thomas Edison invents the Gramophone. Edison is an American scientist who made about a thousand inventions, such as the Electrical Pulp


AH 1408 (1988 AD): Kim Philippe died. The most famous spy of the twentieth century, Philippe was a senior official in the British Intelligence Agency and commissioned as anti-KGB. However, Russians managed to recruit him for their interest despite being nominated to head the British intelligence, thus Philippe fled to Russia where he spent the rest of his life


AH 1409 (1989 AD): The Libyan leader Mo'amer Al-Gadhafi declares that Arabs are free to enter his country without visas, right after he personally bulldozed a border point with Tunisia, and another with Egypt. However, Al-Gadhafi's declaration didn't last long as he enforced visas later on

AH 9 (631 AD): Prophet Mohammed-peace be upon him-returned from the Battle of Tabuk, which some of his companions skipped


AH 808 (1404 AD): Muslim polymath Ibn Khaldoun died


AH 1021 (1612 AD): The Ottoman Empire signed the Istanbul Treaty with Iran to conclude the war that continued for 9 years; the treaty established borders between the two countries, but the truce didn't last long as infighting recurred two years later

AH 92 (711 AD): Muslims conquers Iberia under the leadership of Tariq ibn Zyad; this led to the introduction of Islam to Europe for the first time and the establishment of a Muslim state that continued for 8 centuries under the name Al-Andalus


AH 1353 (1935 AD): Inauguration of petroleum pipeline between Al Mosel in Iraq to Haifa, which broke down years later. The American occupational forces in Iraq are reopening the pipeline to provide Israel's need of Oil


AH 1329 (1947 AD): Mohammed Ali Janah takes office as President of Pakistan after the partition from India
