B11 Monotheism and following the Prophet are the only means of unity and communion

Monotheism and following the Prophet are the only means of unity and communion

All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds, Who has perfected our religion. Peace and blessing be upon whom Allah sent to the Worlds, the Prophet of guidance and mercy sent with the Book (Quran) and the Wisdom (Sunna), upon his Family, Companions and Followers.
Actually, Allah has tied up the brotherhood in faith firmly with the creed of monotheism which is the purpose behind the creation, and sending messengers and revealing divine Books. It is the renewers’ call in every time since there have been always those who show people the teachings of the religion. So, this nation has kept calling to the truth since the Prophetic period till the Ordained Event. The Prophet صلَّى الله عليه وسلَّم said: «A group of people from my Nation will continue to fight in defense of the truth and remain triumphant until the Day of Judgment» [an agreed upon hadith between Al-Bukhâri and Muslim].
The merits of this nation is that they are known by its adherents’ positions in every generation, by showing monotheism and warning against polytheism with its different aspects, distinguishing the Sunna from the heresies, supporting the followers of the truth and knowledge and increasing their number and rejecting the adherents of polytheism and heresies and weakening them. Though opposed by people, they are obeyed when they call to Allah’s obedience, his religion and all that the Almighty loves, because wisdom is the believer’s aim, wherever he finds it, he is worthier to get it. Moreover, they do not support anyone absolutely except the Messenger of Allah عزَّ وجلَّ, nor a group but the Prophet’s Companions رضي الله عنهم. They do not use defamatory statements against them [the Companions]. They refrain from speaking ill of them.
Thus, those who adopt this attitude agree upon the fact that every one’s statement can be accepted or refused except that of Allah’s Messenger Thanks to Allah, they did never agree on an error. So, this is one of the features of the adherents of the truth and attributes of Al-Firqa An-Nâjiya (The Saved Group) with which Allah عزَّ وجلَّ marked Ahl As-Sunna Wa Al-Jamâ`a (People of the Sunna and Community) who call to a non innovative reform from themselves, as it is the way of the adherents and followers of deviation and error. This is because the way of reform is one and does not admit plurality. Its benefit is crystallized by reviving the religion and removing obstacles and all that is attributed falsely to it, without even being altered or changed. So, the [Islamic] religion is preserved and the argument still stands. And what the Prophet صلَّى الله عليه وسلَّم traced is the reformative way itself, and there is no complete reform except with it, the one that Al-Qurûn Athalâtha Al-Mufaddhala (The Best Three Generations) followed. Their heritage is preserved by the scholars. And the latter part of this Ummah (Islamic nation) will not be rectified except by that which rectified its earlier part.
Moreover, the gathering of the [Islamic] nation on error is impossible. And the rise of the truth through guidance, reform, and redressing, and its continuation are certain. Allah عزَّ وجلَّ said:
A promise of truth, which they have been promised﴿ [Al-Ahqâf (The Curved Sand-hills): 16].
So, no hating or grudging people, that ignore its dignity and greatness and want just to impede and make barriers in its way and limit its spread, can harm it. Its resistance lasts, defying overproud, spiteful and ignorant people. And Allah عزَّ وجلَّ Alone is the All-Guider to the right path.
The straight path is based on Allah’s and His Messenger’s obedience, which incite people to perform good and righteous deeds, and to dislike evil, corruption and abomination. That obedience purifies, perfects the soul and grants it happiness in life and in the Hereafter. Allah عزَّ وجلَّ said:
Indeed he succeeds who purifies his ownself (i.e. obeys and performs all that Allah has ordered by following the faith of Islamic monotheism and by doing righteous good deeds). And indeed he fails who corrupts his ownself (i.e. disobeys what Allah has ordered by rejecting the true faith of Islamic monotheism or by following polytheism and by committing every kind of sin)﴿ [Ash-Shams (The Sun): 9-10].
He عزَّ وجلَّ also said:
And whosoever obey Allah and the Messenger (Muhammad صلَّى الله عليه وسلَّم), then they will be in the company of those whom Allah has bestowed His grace, of the Prophets, the Siddiqûn (those followers of the Prophets who were first and foremost to believe in them, like Abu Bakr As-Siddiq رضي الله عنه), the martyrs, and the righteous. And how excellent these companions are! Such is the Bounty from Allah, and Allah is Sufficient as All-Knower﴿ [An-Nisâ'́ (The Women): 69-70].
The people of the [Islamic] faith are, among nations, unique and united in their creed and organization. The usefulness of their sharia is not confined to the Islamic nation, but includes the whole humanity. It is suitable for every time and place and is comprehensive for all the matters of life. Indeed, there is not a problem except it has a solution, through deduction, from the proofs of the Islamic legislation and its general rules, without even resorting to other sources. So, the sharia dispenses with the other systems and codifications, because it is based on firmly connected rules. Its rulings are built on justice and happy medium, far from excess and negligence. It takes into account religious and worldly interests. It rises highly independent on the other human systems and rules whether in its fundamentals or branches. That is the perfection and the favor that Allah عزَّ وجلَّ has bestowed upon the Islamic nation. Allah عزَّ وجلَّ said:
This day, I have perfected your religion for you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion﴿ [Al-Mâ ́idah (The Table spread with Food: 3].
So, the perfection of the religion and its comprehensiveness involve dispensing with anyone’s corrections or any innovators’ additions.
Finally, and in the light of the crowd in the call field, the most precious thing that the caller to Islam may offer his nation is to put it on the correct way through which change can be achieved. Allah عزَّ وجلَّ said:
Verily, Allah will not change the (good) conditions of a people as long as they do not change their state (of goodness) themselves (by committing sins and by being ungrateful and disobedient to Allah)﴿ [Ar-Ra ̀d (The Thunder): 11].
This change should be done without haste that might lead to perversion and corruption.
We ask Allah to help us, grant us pertinence and the good manners of the truthful preachers. We ask Him to guide us to follow the Prophet And the good end is for the pious and righteous persons.
Our final prayer is all praise be to Allah, the Lord of the Worlds.
