please عاونوني انا استاذة انجليزية جديدة وهذي هي المرة الاولى لي نقري فيها عندي اقسام 2 و4 ومنيش عارفة كيفاه راح نبدى وزيد التلاميذ راهم متاخرين بزاف نتاع 2 هدا وين راح يدخلوا file 2 ونتاع 4 في expressing ability تعيشوا عاونوني في كيفاه راح نبدا الدروس

well first you have to know that the Algerian Educational System is based on the Competency Based Approach and learner teaching method
So Bloom's Taxonomy is the Core of CBA since it deals with ( Knowledge: Recall data or information.Comprehension: Understand the meaning, translation, interpolation, and interpretation of instructions and problems. State a problem in one's own words.Application: Use a concept in a new situation or unprompted use of an abstraction. Applies what was learned in the classroom into novel situations in the work place. Analysis: Separates material or concepts into component parts so that its organizational structure may be understood. Distinguishes between facts and inferences. -Synthesis: Builds a structure or pattern from diverse elements. Put parts together to form a whole, with emphasis on creating a new meaning or structure. - Evaluation: Make judgments about the value of ideas or materials.
So this is Bloom's taxonomy and while performing your lesson you may deal with them all or some of them depending on the kid of lesson and you have to know that Bloom's Taxonomy work bottom down and bottom up
so for this lesson At School in USA you can plan it as read lesson where you teach it as PDP lesson and you can perform the Bloom's Taxonomy while applying the Three IIP ( Interact- interpret- produce) which are a great reflection of the Bloom's taxonomy , so your inspector will ask you the following question :
when were your learners able to Interact - interpret and produce ?
So you have to be aware about this and be sure at what moment of your lesson your learners were able to perform those 3 competencies because while performing them your learners are expressing their knowledge , they will also show their comprehension by interpreting oral or written messages , they will apply what they have learnt using the third competency ( produce) so we are dealing with the Bloom's taxonomy in our daily work.
For this lesson you can tackle it as follow:
1) Pre-reading : ask your learners to identify the type of txt (table) and from the title what do they expect the text will be about?
2) During -reading : you can use the book's activity ( filling Becky's letter)
3) post reading : you can use activity 2 ( where the learners will talk about Algerian educational system - you can use it an integrated situation -

perhaps my question wasn't well asked. as you have said in Algeria the approach is CBA and bloom's taxonomy is its core.as concerns the lesson of doday; it was well done and i feel that my learners achieved the objectives after following bloom's Taxonomy steps. but my questions for today is:
how to apply bloom's steps in a typical grammar lesson?

I am so happy that your course well achieved , because it was well conducted which made your learners well react and perform the three IIP .
concerning today's question ( great question I really love such questions)
How to apply Bloom's taxonomy in a grammar lesson?
Well to achieve this we need to apply the PIASP teaching method.
so the P= Presentation<Presenting the context in which the structure appears> ( for example using the script page 170 -where the time conjunctions- where they are written in bold ( I wish all the scripts were elaborated like that this will facilitate the teachers' work to apply PIASP )
so you ask your learners to read the script in order to make them notice the words written in bold ( so here your learners will deal with the first Bloom's taxonomy category (knowledge = defines, describes, identifies, knows, labels, lists, matches, names, outlines, recalls, recognizes, reproduces, selects, states.) where they will define and identify the conjunctions since they have seen some of them before .the Aim here is to make the learners see the structure ( form & meaning ) in context.
2- Isolation : the focus is temporarily on the grammatical item itself and the aim is :to get the learner perceive & recognize the grammatical item what it looks like and this goes also with the second category of Bloom's taxonomy ( comprehension where your learners will be able to infer, interpret, paraphrase, predict, rewrite, summarize,.
3- Analysis: Here you will try to make ur learners analyze the isolated items the aim is : to get your learners perceive how it is formed ( structure), how it functions and what it means and the rule that govern it.This has a great link with the fourth category Analysis" ( Blomm's Taxonomy) where your learners will be able to nalyzes, breaks down, compares, contrasts, diagrams, deconstructs, differentiates, discriminates, distinguishes, identifies, illustrates, infers, outlines, relates, selects, separates.
4- Stating Rule : Here after they analyze you help them to formulate the grammar rule .And this what Bloom called "Synthesis" where the learners are able to Build a structure or pattern from diverse elements. Put parts together to form a whole, with emphasis on creating a new meaning or structure through the following key words "reconstruct, relate, reorganize, revise, rewrite, summarize, tell, write.
5- Practice : This is achieved through three (3) type of tasks
a- Based form task : Mechanical manipulation < focus only on the form >
b- Meaning based task : Focus is on meaning
c- Communicative based task : ( emphasis is on ******* )
So this last stage has a great link with what Bloom named Application: Use a concept in a new situation or unprompted use of an abstraction. Applies what was learned in the classroom into novel situations in the work place.


So as you notice Madam the PIASP is the ideal way to teach grammar item according to Bloom's Taxonomy . I hope this brief explanation is of some benefit for further inquiries you are welcome
