Today I decided to make if you want a kind of revision concerning stress
so let's start

nouns and adjectives that have 2 syllables the stress will be on the first syllable
for example the noun EXPORT the stress is on the first syllable so on EX

verbs that have two syllables the stress will be on the second syllable
for instance the verb DECIDE the stress is on the second syllable CI

the words that end with cy,phy,gy,ty the stress will be on the third syllable from the end
examples
democracy the stress is on MO
geology the stress is on O
ability the stress is on BI

the words that end with TION ,SION,IC the stress will be on the second syllable from the end
examples:education stress is on CA
geologic stress is on LO
alliteration the stress is on RA

here we have an exception in the word POLITICS the stress is on PO

concerning the compound nouns the stress will be on the first part for example:greenhouse the stress is on GREEN

the compound adjectives and verbs the stress will be on the second part for exampleld-fashioned the stress is on FASHIONED
to understand the stress is on STAND
