well, feelings and emotions in the algerian sociey seems to be manysided
first of all we should bear in mind that the features of a society are influenced by it's history and the civilizations that shaped that society
historically speaking, algeria was under colonization for about a century, and that is supposed to creat a kind of hard, harsh emotions, followed by a black decade of bloodshed, but that did never prevent the algerians from being emotional, romantic ones
the problem is that we-the algerians- fail always to express ourselves and our feelings to the other side
another fact, that we consider love for example as a taboo word or matter, that's how our parents raised us
we have what it's called emotional repression, which makes feelings born then die inside
we're also caring more and more about the concrete, material stuff rather than absract meanings and we think that concepts like love, exist only in tales and other literary works
for me i can fall in love but im trying to be rational and aware to take that step since i want to benefit from others mistakes and experiences

Yes of course there are many people who prefer hiding their emotions and feelings because their personalities are like that if they express their feelings they feel bad towards themselves
