syllables

the number of syllables in the word is governed by the number of the vowel sounds

i mean the vowels which are pronounced only

examples

in the word " ran " for example,there is one vowel " a " and it is pronounced

so,there is one syllable

in the word " time " there are two vowels " i " and " e " but the vowel " e " is not pronounced

so,there is also one syllable

in the word " speak " there are two vowels " e " and " a " but the two vowels give us one sound

so,there is one syllable,too

in the word " many " there are two vowels " a " and " y " and each vowel is pronounced alone

so,there are two syllables

in the word " expensive " there are four vowels but the last one " e " is not pronounced

so,there are three syllables

the letters " l " and " n " can be syllabic when they occur at the end of the word after a consonant

example

table: There are two vowels but the second vowel " e " is not pronounced.we have " l " at the end of

the word after the consonant " b" which means that the " l " is syllabic

so,there are two syllables

The very first action should be in the past perfect what comes next (the second action)should be in the past simple


So,the action of preparing is the first one because the players prepare themselves then they play

I waited for the doctor untill I had
thinked he wouldn't come

The same thing here,try to understand the sentence to find out
the right tense
Also,revise the irregular verbs
why thinked

Well,in that lesson there is no specific exercise because we can use all of them:although,though,in spite of the fact that,despite the fact that with the same sentence

eg:Although he was still feeling ill,he went to work the next day

or

Despite the fact that he was still feeling ill,he went to work the next day
