Ahmed Ben Bella was one of the greatest men who did their best so that Algeria would be independent.
He was born on December 25th,1918 in Meghnia . There, he started his primary education and then moved to
Tlemcen to follow his secondary one.In 1937,he left school with no qualification and joined the French army and the football team of Marseille.In 1945,he heard of what happened in Setif,Gelma,Kherrata and other
Eastern towns and thousands of people . They were killed by the French colonists.So,he decided to leave the French army and join the National Army for Liberation – the Algerian army – He was jailed many times but he succeeded to flee to Egypt .
After the independence,Ben Bella became the Algerian president from 1963 to 1965 .He died on
April 11th,2012 .
