SYMBIOSIS - Short Story

"Mummy !. Daddy!. We're back from school" Jaymes screamed on entering their home together with her younger brother.

"Jaymee, why is everywhere quiet?" William whispered after they heard no response from their parents neither could they see anyone around not even the guards.

"I don't know" she replied holding her brother's hands." Miss Sisa, Aunty Sally.Mummy. Daddy.where are you.?" Jaymes screamed so loud yet no reply.

It was unusual for Jaymes and William to return from school to an empty castle. Jaymes wasn't comfortable while lessons were being taught in the school. And then, their private driver whose job was to pick them up from school daily, didn't show up and they had to take a cab home.

William was not happy with the idea of going home with a taxi calling it a shame for hime to go home with that instead of their usual ride with their Roll Royce* but after much persuasion from Jaymes, he agreed morover it was already 4pm.

" Jaymes, let me check on Granny while you check on Daddy's room, maybe Grandma may be around" William said climbing the stairs leading to the left wing of the castle.

On getting to Granny's room, William peeped through the keyholes but didn't see much. Then he gently pushed the door and entered but could not find* granny.

"What could have happened.." Soliloquizing to himself.

"No..!" William heard Jaymes scream which could rent the building apart.

"Jaymes, Jaymes where are you?" William asked as he ran down back to the first floor, taking the route through the stairs to the second floor of the right wing of the castle, leading to his father's room.

"No!!. Mumm, Daddddy No.." The wail became louder as William drew nigh his father's room.

"Jaymes what happened?" William asked seeing his sister uttering inaudible word until he looked at the floor. Then it doomed on him that Jaymes screaming was reasonable.

"Who could have done this?"* William asked in* tears
