Biography about Nelson Mandela


Nelson Mandela was born on July 18, 1918 in Transkei, South Africa. He got his education over there and graduated from the University of South Africa with a degree in law in 1942. In 1961, he began to organize the armed struggle against the policies of racial discrimination. In the following year he was arrested and sentenced to five years. In 1964, he was sentenced to life imprisonment on charges of subversion. After 27 years of imprisonment, Mandela was released on February 20, 1990 and after three years Mandela won the Nobel Peace Prize jointly with Frederick Dclark. On April29, 1994 Mandela was elected president of South Africa. By 1999 they announced his retirement after one term of presidency. In the same year, he founded the Mandela Nelson Mandela Foundation charity.


His achievements
Mandela won the admiration and respect of the whole world. And in recognition of his efforts to achieve democracy and an end to racial discrimination, Mandela won numerous awards and honors. The most important one was the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993. Also he had the Amnesty International, the "Ambassador of Conscience", which is the highest honor granted by the World Organization on Human Rights and the Award of Gaddafi Human Rights. He was awarded an honorary doctorate degree and certificates of honor from many universities in the world. In Parliament Square, London, there is a statue of him.


Nobel peace prize
The struggle of Nelson Mandela: - He’s the winner of the Nobel Peace Prize in 1993
- He’s a part of the history of Africa due to its ability to activate the peace in his country and in other parts of the African continent where he eliminated the racial discrimination and restored the rights of blacks after years of looting of these rights at the hands of the white minority.
Finally, Mandela was a ligand. He stayed in prison for 27 years, which is it doesn’t happen with any leader in the world. He also did not hold any grudge against whites. Mandela called on his people for tolerance and proceed coming to overcome this ordeal with sparing the country's civil war as well as the economic collapse if the white minority has pulled out of the country.
