Dear brother, we commend your eagerness to become well acquainted with Islam and its teachings, which is the way Allah has chosen for the welfare of His servants.



As for your question, you have to keep in mind the fact that body piercing, tattooing, branding, etc. all fall in the category of unnecessary interference, alteration and mutilation of ALLAH’s creation. Therefore, no Muslim, who is conscious of his religion, should ever contemplate such activities.



In his well-known book, The Lawful and the Prohibited in Islam, the prominent Muslim scholar, Sheik Yusuf Al-Qaradawi, states:

“Islam denounces excesses in beautifying oneself when it alters the physical features that Allah created him with. The Glorious Qur'an considers such alterations as inspired by Satan, who "...will command them (his devotees) to change what Allah has created...” (An-Nisa': 119)

Tattooing is one of those excesses. The Messenger of ALLAH (Peace and blessings be upon HIM) is reported to have cursed the tattooer and the tattooed. (Reported by Muslim)

Tattooing permanently disfigures the face and other parts of the body with colored pigment and repulsive designs. Some Arabs, especially women, are in the habit of tattooing large areas of their bodies. People of certain religious sects tattoo pictures of their deities or religious rituals on their hands and chests. The pain and agony that the person experiences from the needles piercing skin add to these images. Because of all of this, both the tattooer and the one who is tattooed have been cursed.”

I wrote this a few days ago...something I was inspired to do by another Dua which I read sometimes.


Oh Allah I thank you for today
Oh Allah I am blessed because you are forgiving and understanding
Oh Allah you have done so much for me and you keep on blessing me
Oh Allah forgive me for everything I have done, said or thought that was not pleasing to you
Oh Allah I ask you now for your forgivness
Oh Allah keep me safe from all danger and harm
Oh Allah help me to start this day with plenty of gratitude
Oh Allah please broaden my mind so that I can accept all things
Oh Allah let me not whine and whimper over things that I have no control over
Oh Allah let me contine to see sin through youe eyes and acknowledge it as evil
Oh Allah when I sin, let me repent and seek your forgivness
Oh Allah when this world closes in on me let me find a quiet place to make Dua
Oh Allah when I am unable to make Dua, listen to my heart and contine to use me to do your will
Oh Allah contine to bless me as I may be a blessing to others
Oh Allah keep me strong that I may help the weak
Oh Allah keep me uplifted as I may have words of encouragment for others
Oh Allah I make Dua for those that are lost and can't find their way
Oh Allah I make Dua for those that are misjudged and misunderstood

Women
Women are the twin halves of men.

The world and all things in it are valuable; but the most valuable thing in the world is a virtuous woman.

The best women are the virtuous; they are the most affectionate to infants, and the most careful of their husband's property.

When a woman performeth the five times of prayer, and fasteth the month of Ramadan, and is chaste, and is not disobedient to her husband, then tell her to enter Paradise by whichever door she liketh.

Verily a great number of women are assembled near my family, complaining of their hubands; and those men who ill-treat their wives do not behave well. He is not of my way who teacheth a woman to stray.

Asma, daughter of Yazid, said, "Victuals were brought to Muhammad, and he put them before some of us women who were present, and said, 'Eat ye.' But notwithstanding we were hungry we said, 'We have no inclination.' Muhammad said, 'O woman! Do not mix hunger with lies.'"

Whoever doeth good to girls, it will be a curtain to him from hell-fire.

Whoever befriendeth two girls till they come of age, will be in the next world along with me, like my two fingers joining each other.

Whoever befriendeth three daughters, or three sisters, and teacheth them manners, and is affectionate to them, till they come of age, may God apportion Paradise for him.

Whoever hath a daughter, and doth not bury her alive or scold her, or prefer his male children to her, may God bring him into Paradise.

Shall I not point out to you the best of virtues? It is your doing good to your daughter when she is returned to you having been divorced by her husband.

God enjoins you to treat women well, for they are your mothers, daughters, aunts.

The rights of women are sacred. See that women are maintained in the rights assigned to them.

Do not prevent your women from coming to the mosque.

Abrahem Ibn Adaham




Abrahem Ibn Adaham once passed by the local market in his village and all the people knowing his piousness and his wisdom flocked around him asking " why doesn't God- when we supplicate - answer and fulfill our supplication ?"

He answered saying " Because your hearts have died ." , then they asked what deadened them .
He said : Ten sins made them dead , these are :
1- you have known God rights but you do not give Him His rights
2- you are reciting the Holy Quran but you don't adhere to its percepts
3- you are claiming the love of the prophet but you do not follow his sunna

4- you have said the paradise is true but you do not do righteous things to enter it.
5- you have said the hellfire is true but you do not do things to escape it.
6- you know the path of the right and truth but you reject it.
7- you have known the invalid wicked way but you still fallow.
8- you have confessed that the devil is your enemy though you don't take him as an enemy and moreover you still obey him.
9- you have buried many of your dead relatives but yet you haven't learnt the lesson yet (that all people will die)
10- you eat God's sustenance and you don't give the due thanks and you have occupied yourselves with people's flaws but forget yours .
