Kenny strode to the bed and lied down. He closed his eyes and was snòring when Deba came out of the bathroom. She stood nåked, gawking at him. She slipped back into her dress, and went to bed.
When Kenny came back the following morning, Deba wanted to ask him when he left but she was still ångry with him for neglecting her yesterday night.
When Kenny wanted to kìss her, she pushed him away. Kenny looked at her in pèrplexity. He wanted to apologize, but still, he doesn't even know what to apologize for, or where to start from, alas, he kept quiet.
After eating, he showered and went to work.
When he came back from work, she still didn't talk to him.
"What is it?" Kenny asked her, but she didn't respond to him for some minutes. Then, when Kenny was already getting ùpset, she said, "Nothing." And dropped his meal on the table and left.
"Nothing? Really?" He stood up and left, leaving his meal unattended.
This continued for one week, until at last they both saw it.
Kenny was énraged when he left in the morning. After work, he wanted to visit his friend, but as he drove towards his house, Skilla called him and told him that he wasn't around. That he travelled.
He'd to reverse his car and go home. When he reached his house, he saw his wife sitting with Keji in the parlour. She greeted him, and he responded, and nobody said another word for about thirty minutes. They just sat and watched a movie. They sat as if they were paused. It was picturesque.
Suddenly, Deba stood up and went to the kitchen and came back with Kenny's meal, but as Kenny prepared to dig in, he received an urgent call and left immediately.
Deba wanted to cry but her lips paused, her heart précipitated, her legs rooted, and her eyes refused to blink. She heard something! Someone was Knocking on the door of their bedroom, which was upstairs. How can?
"Keji," she called, softly. "Look. You need to stay here." She rubbed her fingers on his hair. "Stay here, mummy is coming. Do you hear?"
Keji nodded timìdly, and watched his mother leave. Deba went upstairs, but couldn't see anyone. She came back and lifted her son to her back.
When Kenny came back, he saw Deba standing with Keji on her back.
"Why are you standing like this?" He asked but before she could answer him, something appeared before them and disappeared. It was very quick, but, evident.
Everything changed at that instant. Deba collåpsed, knocking her head and that of Keji on the tiles.
To be continued..........
