I totally agree with what you've said .... the new generation especially "youth" prefer to speak English rather than " french" I think that's because it's easier and less complicated ....also here in Algeria , it's not a strange or new thing to hear someone speaking
French but "English" is different ... the youngster will feel more proud and distinguished if he speaks english ... but the influence of the media that you spoke about remains the strong reason of this phenomenon

yes this is a big problem we are enjoying when we are watching TVshows or programs and movies, and when we look to the bright side wich is learnig a new culturs or langauges it's cool, but when we look to the dark side we see bad things and those what are popular , they are dangerour for our cultur our kids, so we have to know how to benefit and chose the good things for us and for our new generation.
